Getting started

DockRun
3 min read

Five minutes to a dock that is yours: pin what you use, learn the palette, and add a widget.

Pin what you use

Drag an app, folder or link onto the dock. Or press Option-Space, find it, and press Command-P. Right-click a pin to rename it, change its icon or remove it.

In the DockRun window, Docks lists every pin: reorder, hide with the eye, or select several to hide or remove at once.

The command palette

Option-Space opens it anywhere. With nothing typed it shows what you used lately and every app on your Mac as a grid; arrow keys move, Return opens. Type to search apps, files, links, workspaces and workflows.

Narrow a search with a prefix such as app:, ws:, wf: or file:.

Widgets and clipboard

Point at the widgets icon on the dock, or press its shortcut, to slide out the widget dock. Widgets > Top Panel adds a panel that drops from the top edge, with search and a file shelf.

Turn on clipboard history in Settings > Clipboard to keep text, links, pictures and files you copied.

Make it look right

Settings > Dock Style changes the background (Liquid Glass, solid or transparent), colour theme, icon colour, size and spacing, with a preview over light and dark desktops.
