Permissions

DockRun
3 min read

DockRun asks for nothing to start. Each permission below is requested only when you use the feature that needs it, and every one is optional.

Accessibility

Needed to place other apps' windows when a workspace opens, and for the Press Keyboard Shortcut step. Allow it in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.

Automation

Needed for Save Setup (Finder, Safari and Chrome), the Now Playing widget (Music and Spotify), and workflow templates such as Toggle dark mode (System Events) and Empty the Trash (Finder). macOS asks the first time and you can review it under Privacy & Security > Automation.

Calendars

Needed only for the Calendar widget, which shows your next event.

Switches inside DockRun

Settings > Permissions & Safety has a switch for what DockRun may do: open apps, links and files, replace the clipboard, send keyboard shortcuts, run scripts and more. Turning one off blocks it everywhere, including workflows and MCP, and the message says which one to turn back on.

What stays on your Mac

Pins, clipboard history, workflows and settings are stored on your Mac. Your AI key, if you add one, is kept in the macOS Keychain. Weather, stock and currency widgets contact their data providers only while those widgets are on.
